Montreal General Hospital Foundation announces new President & CEO

David A. McAusland, Chairman, Montreal General Hospital Foundation, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jean-Guy Gourdeau as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation.

Mr. Gourdeau, CA (CPA), CFA, comes from the financial industry and has extensive experience in the charitable sector as well.

He was recently President, Solstice Financial and serves on the Board of Directors of both Fortem and GCS Medical, and is a Member of Anges Quebec. He previously held senior management positions with Richardson Capital, Investors Group and Power Financial Corporation.

Mr. Gourdeau is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Foundation of Greater Montreal and of The Foundation of the YMCAs of Quebec, a position he has held for thirteen years. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of Fondation Hopital Ste-Justine and a member of the Investment and Audit Committees.

Mr. Gourdeau holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Finance and Accounting from McGill University.

Founded in 1821, the Montreal General Hospital was the first non-denominational public hospital in Montreal and, thanks to continuous support from the community, has developed into one of the leading healthcare institutions in the country. the hospital, downtown Montreal’s only adult Level One Trauma Centre, is a member of the McGill University Health Centre network.

Established in 1973, the Montreal General Hospital Foundation is a registered charity dedicated to raising and managing funds in support of excellence in patient care, teaching and research at the Montreal General Hospital. These funds are invested in the priority needs of the hospital and its patients, in accordance with the wishes of donors.
